October 12 Meghan at 14 Months OldSo, here is our first entry. I've delayed posting because I'm not really sure where to even begin! I've been blogging on my preganancy site since we found out I was pregnant all the way through Meghan's first birthday. I just felt it was time to move our blogs somewhere else, after all I'm not longer pregnant but I still want to share updates and milestones with family and friends. So, here we are, ready to brag!
Meghan will be 14 months old this weekend, I can't believe it. Every week it seems like she changes and I am not sure I can keep up with it all! I can barely keep up with her! She's just learning how to run. She even says, as she's trying to run, "nun nun nun nun." Meghan has a bunch of scrapes and bruises as she's learning this new skill, but she just gets right back up and continues on! Such a big girl!
We took Meghan to the zoo last weekend and she absolutely loved it! She saw all her favorite animals. She "signed" all the animals she knew (mainly monkey, bear, bird and snake) and made lots of the animal sounds. She's so smart! She would have stayed at the elephant exhibit (currently her favorite animal) all day if we let her.
Speaking of monkey's...Meghan is "monkey see, monkey do" lately. She watches intently and proceeds to mimic our actions. In most situations it is the cutest thing, but now we really have to be more cautious of displaying our bad habits.
Meghan is a dancing queen lately. Ever since my cousins wedding last month, where she danced the night away, she breaks it down whenever she hears music. Dad and brother even taught her how to headbang! It is the cutest thing to watch.
Meghan loves playing hide and seek. She even likes hiding and scaring people (just like dad does). She hides in the closet or outside, runs out at you, and says "boo!" Then laughs hysterically when you get "scared."
She's finally adjusted to the Toddler room at daycare and no longer cries when I leave. I think it helps that her best buddy Anson is now in the toddler room with her. She is also enjoying her new "big girl carseat." Now that she faces forward it's a whole new world to look at and she rarely sleeps on the way to and from work. She's constantly pointing at things either to ask what they are or to show me what she sees. I love it!
Meghan's two top one year molars came in Sept. 30th. At least that's when I saw/felt them. It explains her (and mom's) sleepless nights.
With the long awaited start of the football season, for Dad, he's giddy that Meghan enjoys watching it and has even taught her how to say and do "Touchdown!" It is absolutely adorable to see her do.
We went on another airplane ride with Gramma K to my cousins wedding in North Dakota. She had a BLAST swimming and dancing. She really put on a show dancing at the reception. She even FLIRTED with the guitar player. She would sit there and dance, twirl and look up at him as if to say "Are you watching me? Arent' I cute?" She also had a ton of fun with my cousing Keaton who is almost 4. She points to him in pictures all the time now. We also went up to Great Grandma Schells house too. Great Grandma had all kinds of pumpkins outside that Meghan insited were her "apples." By the time we left she learned how to say "pumpkin" rather well, even emphasizing the "K."
We'll continue to update as much as possible. I have posted most of our pictures on snapfish. I will put up a link for that soon. Take care and love you all!
